Mariposa Arts Theatre is starting off its 2018-19 season with a hilarious romp – Lucky Stiff, a musical farce.
Hapless shoe salesman Harry Witherspoon is set to inherit $6 million with a twist. He must escort his recently deceased uncle, who is suitably embalmed, on the trip of a lifetime to fabulous Monte Carlo – with plenty of wine, women and song. What could go wrong? Another contender for the money? Kidnapping? Gun-wielding villain with bad eyesight? All set to music.
The play is being directed by Michael Clipperton, who worked in the arts department at Eastview Secondary School from 1998 to 2013, including as chair for 10 years.
