Four Barrie roads are included in this year’s list of the five worst roads in the central Ontario region, and one of those roads — Duckworth Street — even made it into the top 10 worst roads for the entire province.

The list of Canada’s worst roads is compiled every year by the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) as part of their Worst Roads campaign.

Duckworth Street topped the local list and also tied for eighth worst road in the province on this year’s list.

Morrow Road was listed as the second-worst road in central Ontario, while Hurst Drive and Mapleview Drive East took the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Lockhart Drive in Innisfil is listed as this year’s third worst road in the region.

The central Ontario region includes Bruce, Dufferin, Grey and Simcoe Counties, as well as the Muskoka District Municipality.

Each year, the Worst Roads campaign is conducted by way of an online survey and CAA said over 3,000 roads were nominated this year — the highest number to date.

CAA says the campaign allows public input to help municipal and provincial governments understand what roadway improvements are important and where they should be made.

Barrie’s Morrow Drive also took the number two spot in last year’s listing of worst roads in central Ontario.
