Rainfall warning in effect.

Periods of rain today.  Amount 15 to 25 mm. Wind gusting to 50 km/h. High 6.

Periods of rain changing to snow and local blowing snow early this evening. Snowfall amount 5 to 10 cm. Wind gusting up to 80 km/h and the overnight low -1.

Flurries ending Friday morning then clearing, windy and the high 3.

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
  • Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  • Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 35 mm are expected.

Areas of rain are gradually spreading across Southern Ontario. The rain will become more organized today and may fall fairly heavy at times in some areas. The rain will change to snow late today or tonight.

A few centimetres of snow are expected tonight except closer to 2 near Lake Ontario. The snow will taper off early Friday.

Rainfall warnings are issued for amounts of 25 mm or more in 24 hours or less when the ground is saturated. For the latest information for the potential for spring flooding in your area, please consult the website of your local Conservation Authority or the website of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
