Plant-based food company sets the table for grand opening (update: postponed)

Update (Oct. 25, 4:40 p.m.): The company has announced that Friday's grand opening event has been postponed "due to an unexpected equipment issue." A rescheduled date has not been released.

Green Bowl Foods will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Barrie location on Friday. 

Their "state-of-the-art facility" is located 112 Commerce Park Dr., Units A-B, in the city's south end.

The business describes itself as "a pioneering plant-based food company dedicated to sustainability and combating food waste."

The event begins at 1 p.m, Oct. 27., and will include an introduction from CEO and co-founder Max Jamshidian about plant-based meals. Other guests are also expected to speak about the significance of sustainable food practices and upcycling in our community.

"With a focus on combating food waste, Green Bowl Foods aims to provide delicious and nutritious plant-based meals while promoting environmental responsibility," states a news release.
