NEWS RELEASE
CROHN’S AND COLITIS CANADA
*************************
On June 4, Canadians from coast to coast will walk to stop Crohn’s and colitis at the 28th annual Gutsy Walk.
The family-friendly event is the largest single fundraiser for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, supporting research into a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis that impact 300,000 Canadians and their families.
Since its start in 1996, Gutsy Walk has become the largest single fundraiser for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, having raised more than $48 million for support programs and innovative research. It is aiming to add $3 million to that total this year. More than 3,500 Canadians participated in last year’s walk.
“Gutsy Walk brings people across the country together to find a cure and improve the lives of Canadians with Crohn’s and colitis,” says Joel Evans, local honorary chair. “It also boosts the morale of everybody affected by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. It reminds us all that we are not on this journey on our own.”
The Simcoe County Gutsy Walk will take place at St. Vincent Park on June 4 with registration at 11 a.m. Create a team or walk individually with family and friends while making a difference for everyone affected by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
