Snow squall watch in effect for:
- Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
Locally heavy snow squalls tonight into Friday morning.
Locally heavy snow squalls are expected to begin tonight and continue through the overnight into Friday morning. Snow squalls are expected to taper off Friday near noon.
Local snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm in 12 hours are possible.
Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
