From Nov. 18 to 24, Tim Hortons is kicking off the holiday season with smiles and kindness with a return of its national Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, where 100 per cent of proceeds are donated to local charities and community groups across Canada, including Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
“Supporting communities is at the heart of the Tim Hortons brand and there’s no better time than the holiday season for us to rally with guests, Tims restaurant owners and team members to spread kindness right across Canada,” says Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons. “Since 1996, Canadians have shown incredible support for our iconic Smile Cookie program, which has now raised over $129 million for charities and community groups.
"Last year we launched the inaugural Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, and it was an amazing success, raising $9.8 million. We’re looking forward to serving Canadians millions of hand-decorated Holiday Smile Cookies starting Nov. 18 and together supporting over 400 local charities and community groups, including Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.”
Barrie Food Bank has seen alarming growth in the number of individuals seeking food support over the past two years.
“We are seeing more first-time visitors, large families and seniors than ever before and are providing food to 7,000 individuals on a monthly basis. We are incredibly thankful to share in the proceeds from the Holiday Smile Cookies sales — last year we received an incredible $65,198.60. So, this is a major step forward in pursuit of our holiday Fill the Gap campaign goal of raising $1 million to meet the need. We are grateful for the support of the local Barrie Tim Hortons restaurants and all those who purchase the Holiday Smile Cookies,” according to Karen Shuh, executive director at the Barrie Food Bank.
The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie is a delicious, white chocolate chip sugar cookie that’s infused with red and green sprinkles and adorned with a hand-decorated smile. Tims Holiday Smile Cookies are a great treat to share with family members, friends and colleagues who can join in on giving back to their communities, one cookie a time.
