Community Wholeness Centre (CWC Barrie) in Partnership with StopGap Foundation had received its first $1,500 Injection/Donation from Kiwanis Club of Barrie to the StopGap Barrie Community Ramp Project
Kiwanis Club of Barrie was recently the first to donate to the StopGap Barrie Community Ramp Program. A $1,500 cheque was presented to CWC Barrie in association with Creating Connection, Program Coordinators of the StopGap Barrie Community Ramp Project.
The StopGap Foundation is a charitable organization that raises awareness about the importance of accessibility and inclusion.
CWC Barrie, in association with Creating Connection Barrie, Barrie North Collegiate, Gilbert Centre, the Downtown BIA and the City of Barrie’s Accessibility Advisory Committee look forward to addressing and providing deployable ramps to businesses and organizations with one step inaccessibility into their building.
Luke Anderson, co-founder of StopGap, states: “Accessibility in our communities is a huge issue! StopGap is helping to solve this problem with the support from organizations like CWC Barrie who are taking the lead to address this at the local level. Together around the world, we are freeing barriers to give everyone the opportunity to reach their full potential. When community members and organizations come together as Barrie has demonstrated, real change can happen"

Community members, local businesses and community groups are encouraged to contact [email protected] or by calling 705-733-5683 or 705-241-5488 to get more information on getting a free deployable ramp to provide accessibility to individuals in wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and delivery persons.
