The Barrie Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations of local women who inspire.

Nominations for the chamber’s 2025 Women in Business Awards, an awards luncheon that provides a platform to recognize the women that lead and succeed in Barrie, are now being accepted.

The nomination process is open to members of the public to nominate, recognize and encourage a woman or female-led business or organization that has excelled beyond their expectations over the past year.

This awards program aims to honour local women who have shaped their community through their social responsibility, entrepreneurial spirit, risk-taking and innovation, and who are local trailblazers and leaders in the community.

The awards include eight separate categories, including Community Impact, Creative Visionary, Entrepreneur, Health-care Hero, Intrapreneur, Visionary, Woman in Trade and Young Entrepreneur.

Nominations will be open until Jan. 21. For more information on each category or the nomination process, click here.

The judging panel consists of community figures who bring their professional experience and unique perspectives to the table, says the chamber. Judges will assess each submission and determine the top three finalists in each category.

The popular annual event has sold out for the last three years, so the chamber is reminding people to purchase their tickets for the event — scheduled for Friday, March 7 at Liberty North — early in order to avoid disappointment.

The luncheon will also include keynote speaker Minister Charmaine Williams, associate minister of Women's Social and Economic Opportunity, as well as local radio hosts Charlie and Amy Aust, who will serve as the event’s emcees.
