Larche acquisition of Tyger Shark division good deal for all

It’s not often two big-thinking local companies work together to create something that works equally for both, but Larche and Tyger Shark have done just that.

Tyger Shark has sold its small and medium business enterprise digital division and full service hosting unit to Paul Larche and the team at Larche.

Tyger Shark owners Tyler Murray and Jimmy Furlano have been providing small businesses in the region with top-quality digital marketing while also juggling the massive workload of national brands such as Pizza Pizza, Drake and October’s Very Own, MLSE and many more.

With sights set on taking the Tyger Shark service to a more global scale, as well as focusing on their desire to lead the virtual and augmented reality movement, Furlano said he knew the time was right to hand off some of Tyger Shark’s focus to someone who could provide the similar passionate service.

“I’ve known Paul for a long time and highly respect not just what he’s done in the business world but also for his dedication to the community,” said Furlano. “This was an easy decision as far as who we wanted to work with on this deal and we had been talking to Paul for a little while now.

"It was the right time with the right people.”

One of the great things about Tyger Shark is the company’s love to the city of Barrie. Despite ample opportunity to move to Toronto or another big city, Furlano assures that the company will remain a local business as usual, but with international focus.

“We’ll continue to own and operate here in Barrie, but will keep our focus on the large national brands we already represent and accelerate our trajectory as one of the leading digital agencies in Canada,” said Furlano.

After selling his radio stations KICX 106 and 104.1 The Dock to Bell recently, Paul Larche has been focused on making Larche a leader as a digital branding agency. The company says it will continue to grow in its new south-end facility that features a state-of-the-art video and photography studio.

Larche already has a strong local clientele that features companies such as Napoleon, Georgian BMW, Chickpea Pasta and a host of others and will now provide the quality service they’re known for to the businesses they acquired from Tyger Shark.

“I have such a huge respect for the folks at Tyger Shark and how they’ve built what they have built while giving so much to their community,” said Larche. “I think that’s what brought us all together originally is our love for the Simcoe County area and the small businesses in it. That will continue to be our culture and identity at Larche as we venture more into the digital branding world.”

Formerly Larche Communications and now known simply as Larche, the company will focus on being a full-service digital branding agency that will offer branding, creative, web, digital marketing and video/photography services.
