The snow may have stopped, but the impact of this weekend's storm continues to be felt in areas just outside of Barrie.
Between Thursday and Sunday morning, Orillia was hammered with more than 70 centimetres of snow; that is the equivalent to an average month of snowfall for the Sunshine City.
While local roads have been plowed, many sidewalks — as of Monday morning — remained filled with snow.
That might mean you may not get mail today. Canada Post has issued a 'yellow' delivery service alert for Orillia, Oro-Medonte, Phelpston and Elmvale.
On Friday, the postal service issued a 'red' alert, meaning its mail carriers were not able to deliver mail at all.
A yellow alert "means we are trying our best to deliver, but there may be delays due to inclement weather and snow," Canada Post stated on X.
"We’ll resume regular delivery once conditions improve and it’s safe to do so," the post says.
Canada Post encourages people to clear the snow and ice from their walkways, stairs, and driveways to "ensure safe access to the front door for both their visitors and their mail carriers when service resumes.
"We thank the public for their patience."
