The Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board is pleased to announce the ratification of a new collective agreement with the South Simcoe Police Association.
“We’re proud of the hard work our dedicated officers and civilian staff members do to protect the residents,” said Police Services Chair, Rod Hicks.
He said the agreement exemplifies effective community policing, while being responsible and prudent with financial resources.
“We have reached a fair agreement for our members,” said Police Association president, Dan Tucker. “It was important that we addressed specific requirements, such as improving mental health support for our members while continuing to provide value to the communities we serve.”
The agreement is for a four year term, effective January 1, 2016 until December 31, 2019.
It includes a 1.9 per cent average annual salary increase and an increase in psychological services benefits. Operational savings will be achieved through several initiatives such as the introduction of part time constable positions and a new cadet classification.
