Future Georgian students can gain the skills needed to make transformational change in their communities by advancing equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in one of three new programs the college recently announced.
Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging is a one-year graduate certificate that helps graduates understand how to advance and champion meaningful, sustainable change at individual, interpersonal, organizational and systemic levels. With unprecedented growth in this field in recent years, the program also addresses a surge in labour market demand for professionals with a desire to make a difference at an organizational level.
This program, which starts in fall 2025, will have full-time and part-time options, as well as in-person and hybrid (online and in-person) program delivery choices.
“We’re proud to deliver innovative new programs that are responsive to evolving industry needs while also serving to address a pressing imperative for equity, inclusion and belonging across sectors. Through these programs, our graduates will be equipped to thrive, contribute and make a tangible difference in their respective domains and fields of practice,” said Dr. Yael Katz, vice-president, academic.
Other new programs include Retirement and Assisted Care Management, which has intakes in summer and fall 2025, and Electromechanical Engineering Technician – Mechatronics, which begins in fall 2025. All new programs are now accepting applications.
The Retirement and Assisted Care Management program combines business and hospitality to expand students’ health care knowledge and provide experiential learning opportunities, including a capstone project and field placement. Graduates of this program will have the leadership skills and knowledge to advance their careers and create positive, quality experiences in retirement communities.
Students in the Electromechanical Engineering Technician – Mechatronics program will be prepared for a career in an emerging field that combines electrical, mechanical and computer engineering to build advanced industrial systems. The program includes a co-op and a mix of hands-on and classroom learning to prepare students to work in manufacturing, automation, robotics, and more.
