Stevenson Memorial Hospital (SMH) is pleased to announce Dr. Roger Musa as their new chief of staff effective June 24, 2024.

Dr. Musa left Ontario in 2001 to pursue a career in medicine. He became the medical director at AultmanNow Urgent Walk-In Clinic in Ohio and has since spent a majority of his medical career in Ohio at Aultman Hospital.

Dr. Musa and his family are relocating back to Ontario upon his start at SMH.

He became a hospitalist in 2008 and has advanced his career to hold positions such as program director, family medicine residency program, vice-chair of the department of inpatient medicine, and, most recently, executive director of medical education.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Musa join the senior leadership team at SMH, overseeing management and delivery of medical services aligning with our strategic plan, and know he will be a wonderful addition to our team and hospital,” says Norm Depta, chair, SMH board of directors.

Dr. Musa became a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant at Aultman Hospital and has an extensive educational background. He is a member of the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians, physician delegate to the American Academy of Family Physicians and is a clinical associate professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University.

He has been recognized for his contributions to education and in medicine, having been awarded the Medical Staff Service Award in 2023 and Faculty Teacher of the Year Award, three years in a row from 2010-12, among many other awards and accomplishments.

Dr. Roger Musa replaces Dr. James Lo, who became interim chief of staff in April of this year.
