Police bust licensed New Tecumseth grow-op for producing too much weed

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH - On Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), executed a search warrant at a residence, as well as outbuildings on the 8th Line, Town of New Tecumseth.

This is a rural property near Beeton.

During the search, approximately 500 marijuana plants were seized with an estimated street value of $500,000.

Four males arrested at the scene were identified as:

  • Tang, Kin Pang, age 59, of Markham, Ontario, charged with production of drug
  • He, Shan Yong, age 49, of Markham, charged with production of drug
  • Wang, Pin Hui, age 39, of Scarborough, charged with production of drug
  • Wang, Zeng Qiang, age 41, of Toronto, charged with production of drug.

This property was a licensed marijuana grow operation which had exceeded its limit significantly. All four persons arrested were released on a Promise to Appear before an Ontario Court of Justice.
