Police have identified the subject of a death investigation in Barrie on Friday night as a 41-year-old male.
Aurora Ontario Provincial Police and the OPP Highway Safety Division are investigating the death at Bayfield Street and the westbound ramp to Highway 400 south.
Police disclosed the nature of the incident Saturday morning.
“The OPP have a death investigation underway,” said Const. Nicola Morris of the OPP Highway Safety Division. “There is an active police investigation going on in the area and there is no risk to public safety.”
Morris said Friday night the ramp from Bayfield Street, westbound to the 400’s southbound lanes, was closed for the police investigation.
Police did not release the name of the deceased in their Sunday afternoon update.
There is no risk to public safety, police said Sunday.
