Police looking for witnesses to fatal pedestrian collision

Barrie Police are asking for the witnesses of a collision, involving a single vehicle and pedestrian, to come forward and assist with collision reconstruction.

On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. a vehicle was turning left onto Duckworth Street from Grove Street, in the City of Barrie, where it stuck a male crossing on the north side of Grove Street heading eastbound.

The 84-year-old Barrie victim was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Center and has since succumbed to his injuries.  

Barrie Police traffic reconstruction officers are continuing their investigation at this time and wish for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact PC M Casey at 705-725-7025 ext. 2918 or PC C Allport at 705-725-7025 ext. 2913.
