Redwood Park Communities will host a Family Picnic Gala this spring for a family-friendly twist on the standard charity fundraising gala.

The picnic will take place on Sunday, June 5, starting at 12:30 p.m. at Braestone Farm on 9th Line in Oro-Medonte. Moms and dads, aunts and uncles, grandparents and children, are invited to come together for an afternoon of food and fun as families supporting families.

“What we heard from our event committee was that they love going to charity galas, but they wished they were able to involve their children,” notes Redwood CEO and co-founder Tim Kent.

This event will be an old-school family picnic, adults and kids alike can be ready to play in potato sack races and three-legged races, as well as enjoy a full range of picnic-style foods.

The afternoon is to raise funds for the Family Short-Term Supportive Housing Centre on Lillian Crescent, a partnership with The Salvation Army to bring much-needed housing for local families in a housing crisis. Updates on Redwood’s other work and impact will also be shared.

“We’re very grateful to our sponsors for seeing the potential of this event,” adds Kent. “Our sincere thanks to Pratt Homes, Jeff’s Junk, Bell CPA & Associates, Marketing CoPilot, and Linda Paisley.”
