ORO-MEDONTE – On Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 at 11 p.m. a resident in the area of HWY 11 South and Line 11 awoke to find a stranger in his house.

This suspect was washing his hands and when confronted stated that he got his hands dirty while siphoning gas from the vehicles on that property. The victim had another resident contact police. 

When officers from Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the suspect was arrested and charged with:

  • Break and enter X 3
  • Fail to comply with probation X 2
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime, all of which are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The 53-year-old male from Gravenhurst will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie later today for a Bail Hearing.
