Rider seriously hurt in motorcycle crash

Police are still investigating how it happened

CALEDON – On Monday, May 16, 2016 at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision involving a blue Suzuki motorcycle. 

The collision was located on the off-ramp of Highway 410 at the Mayfield Road exit. 

The ramp was closed for several hours while the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attended the scene to provide assistance with the investigation.

The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old male from Caledon, was travelling southbound along the off-ramp when for some unknown reason the motorcycle left the roadway into the east ditch. 

Initially, the driver was transported to hospital by EMS with undetermined injuries.  Subsequently, the motorcyclist was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries. As a result, the investigation is still on-going.
