It has been more than a year since the city and a local car dealership struck a deal over the naming rights for the former Barrie Molson Centre (BMC), but the new sign has now been placed on the south-end building.
Work crews were on site Thursday as the silver lettering and small maple leaf were placed on the west side of the building.
The BMC was renamed Sadlon Arena after city council approved a 10-year naming rights agreement with Paul Sadlon Motors worth more than $1.7 million in December 2019.
There's also a provision in the deal allowing for a mutually agreed upon extension for a further 10-year period at a future agreed upon price. Interest in extending the agreement must be communicated to the city no less than one year prior to the current deal's expiry.
The Bayview Drive building had been known as the Barrie Molson Centre since it opened in 1995.
