School, roads closed due to flooding

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board issued the following notification this morning stating that St. James Catholic School is closed due to flooding:

Due to heavy rain last night into the morning, St. James Catholic School has sustained significant flooding. The school will be closed today, Friday, June 23, so that the affected areas can be thoroughly cleaned and assessed. More information and updates will be provided on the school website.

The following roads have been reported to have large volumes of water across them or are closed due to water levels:

  • County Road 50 closed from County Road 1 to County Road 14 - Loretto - due to flooding
  • 3rd Line closed from Sideroad 20 to County Road 27 - Schomberg - due to flooding
  • County Road 12 between Sideroad 20 and Sideroad 25 - Shelburne - large volume of water across the road
  • Adjala-Tecumseth Town Line between County Road 14 and 6th Line - Tottenham - large volume of water across the roadway
  • Highway 89 just west of Highway 10 - Shelburne - one eastbound lane closed due to flooding
  • Adjala-Tecumseth Town Lineand County Road 1 - Loretto - flooding at the intersection
  • 15th Sideroad between 5th Line and 6th Line - Tottenham - large volume of water across roadway
