A storage shed fire along Victoria Street was extinguished by Barrie firefighters Sunday morning.
Deputy Fire Chief Eric MacFadden said no one was injured during the 5 a.m. blaze, which destroyed the shed.
The fire was near the homeless encampment on Victoria Street, west of Anne Street.
“There was no indication people were living in it,” MacFadden said of the storage shed. “People that were there just kind of moved out of the way.”
He said Barrie Fire and Emergency Service has not determined the fire’s cause, and there is no damage estimate.
On Sept. 25, city firefighters were called to the Victoria Street homeless encampment to deal with a fire involving a small makeshift structure there.
No one was in the structure, MacFadden said at the time, and there were no injuries.
