MIDHURST – The County of Simcoe is celebrating the important contributions of transit staff and the vital roles they play across our region on March 18 by recognizing Transit Worker Appreciation Day.

"Today, it’s important to honour the incredible efforts of our transit workers who keep our community moving smoothly," said Warden Basil Clarke. "Transit Worker Appreciation Day is our way of acknowledging the essential role these dedicated individuals play in our daily lives. From getting us to work and school to ensuring we make it to our appointments, their hard work and commitment are the backbone of LINX Transit's success. We are profoundly thankful for their unwavering dedication."

Since service began in 2018, LINX and LINX Plus have provided over one million rides for people across Simcoe County. With six routes in operation, residents can travel between communities with ease and reliability. These affordable and accessible routes allow residents to access health services, educational institutions, employment opportunities, special events and much more.

LINX Transit’s six routes include: 

  1. Penetanguishene/Midland – Barrie 
  2. Wasaga Beach – Barrie 
  3. Orillia – Barrie 
  4. Collingwood – Wasaga Beach 
  5. New Tecumseth – Bradford West Gwillimbury 
  6. Midland – Orillia
