Snow squall watch issued for:
- Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
- Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
- Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
- Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
Current details:
Lake effect snow squalls beginning later today.
Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with total accumulations of 15 to 30 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour.
Reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.
Timing:
Late this afternoon or this evening through Wednesday afternoon.
Discussion:
Snow squalls off Georgian Bay will shift south into the area later this afternoon or this evening. The highest snowfall amounts are expected to be near Georgian Bay. Lake effect snow will weaken and move out of the area Wednesday afternoon.
Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
