As grilling season heats up, the Springwater Fire Department is excited to announce the launch of the Springwater Fire Department BBQ Safety Contest, aimed at promoting safe barbecue practices within our community.
The contest is open to all members of the Springwater community. Submit your barbecue safety photo by Aug. 12, 2024, to be entered into the contest for a chance to win a brand-new barbecue grill, perfect for enhancing those summer cookouts. One lucky winner will be announced on Aug. 16, 2024.
How to enter:
- Watch the safety video: Begin by viewing our barbecue safety video, available on the Springwater website and social media channels.
- Practise safe barbecuing: Capture a photo of yourself or your family practising safe barbecuing techniques. This could include proper grill placement, safe handling of utensils, and other fire safety measures.
- Submit your photo: Email your photo to [email protected] with the subject line “BBQ Safety Photo Contest.”
“Safety is our top priority, and we want everyone to enjoy their outdoor cooking experiences without incident,” said Jeff Kirk, director of fire and emergency services. “This contest is about providing the community with the knowledge and resources they need to grill safely and confidently.”
