Police have charged a 33-year-old Barrie man with arson following a fire near downtown Barrie Thursday night.
Just after 8 p.m., the accused called 9-1-1 stating he had intentionally set fire to a structure on Bradford Street. Police responded to the area to find the structure engulfed in flames, and located the accused not far from the scene. He was arrested and transported to the Barrie Police Station, and will appear in bail court Friday morning.
The Office of the Fire Marshal was advised of the incident and will not be investigating.
