(INNISFIL, ON) South Simcoe Police are warning students to be vigilant, after a 13-year old Sunnybrae Public School student was approached on Friday morning.

The girl reports that the driver of a black SUV stopped his car on Nelson Street in Stroud then got out through the passenger door.

This alarmed the teen and she ran to school through some backyards. The man is described as white, about 5'10, with a medium build and bright blond hair and sunglasses.

The man did not pursue, touch or speak to the girl, and police would like to speak to him to explain his actions. At this point, investigators do not believe any criminal offence has been committed.

Students are reminded to be cautious around strangers, and report unusual activity to their school staff.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Simcoe Police or Crimestoppers.
