A swim advisory has been issued for Centennial Beach in Barrie.
The advisory was issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit based on water sample results from Monday.
Staff are posting signs and will resample the water today (Aug. 15).
Meanwhile, the swim advisory issued for Minet’s Point Beach has been lifted, as bacteriological results from samples taken Monday are considered to be acceptable for recreational water use.
During a swim advisory, signs are posted to indicate recent water samples show bacteria levels that may increase risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness.
If you choose to swim during an advisory, health officials recommend you avoid dunking your head or swallowing the water.
