Theatre by the Bay will host an Amazing Race fundraiser in Barrie on May 28 as part of the company’s 20th-season anniversary celebration.
Over the course of a single day, teams of four will engage in a series of exciting activities and puzzle solving to compete for prizes.
“I am so excited to be bringing such an exciting event to our community,” says Iain Moggach, artistic director of Theatre by the Bay. “Not only is it going to be a lot of fun, but you will also be raising funds to support all the work we do in the community. It is a real ‘win-win’ situation.”
Participants must be 18-plus and register in a team of four. To register, each team member must pay $50 and raise $100 each for their team through Theatre by the Bay’s fundraising page. Teams must have access to a car, have little to no mobility issues, and be available all day on May 28 and May 29 for the rain date.
The Amazing Race will begin at a local park (to be announced) and finish at Donaleigh’s with musical performances. All pledges raised from the fundraiser will support Theatre by the Bay’s mission of producing local stories, hiring local artists, and attracting the best Canadian theatre talent to the community.
