Cool weather and gusty winds couldn’t keep a couple of dozen people from a tour of downtown Barrie on Saturday afternoon.
Town crier Steve Travers gave a look back to pioneer Barrie days, before scheduled stops at the former Barrie Jail and then to the Queens Hotel, also to be the subject of a history lesson, and some food.
The tour was co-hosted by Coun. Mike McCann, who said the event was about connecting, inspiring and having fun.
Also attending were Barrie Couns. Clare Riepma, Gary Harvey and Sergio Morales, along with Barrie-Springwater-Oro-Medonte MPP Doug Downey.
