Mayor Lynn Dollin, members of Council and MP John Brassard gathered at the Town of Innisfil’s Operations Department today to recognize the efforts of summer students as their time at the Town of Innisfil winds to an end.

With many of the students heading back to school next week, it was an ideal time to say thanks for their contributions, while announcing that the Town of Innisfil was selected as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates for 2019 by the Career Directory.

“Innisfil is proud to help students develop the skills they need to accelerate their careers,” said Dollin, “Being recognized as one of Canada’s best employers for youth represents the positive working culture that we are so fortunate to have here at the Town of Innisfil.”

Dollin also acknowledged local MP John Brassard who supported Innisfil’s participation in the Canada Summer Jobs Program that led to the hiring of 49 students in 2019.

“It’s all about providing that valuable work experience for the students and the communities in which the Canada Summer Jobs Program operates,” said Brassard.

The Town of Innisfil received $111,720 in funding through the program. Summer students worked within the Town’s Operations, Leisure Services and Customer Service departments to name a few.
