After 29 days of biking, walking and running, Barrie's Zach Hofer has arrived in Ottawa.

The 13-year-old began a fundraising journey on Aug. 13 from Barrie to Parliament Hill to raise awareness for youth mental health issues and funds for the new Child and Youth Mental Health Unit at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Zach started with a fundraising goal of $10,000 but has far exceeded that with the latest tally at over $70,000.

Barrie's Mayor Jeff Lehman is in Ottawa for Zach's arrival.

"In Ottawa, looking forward to joining @ZachMakesTracks for his final walk through Downtown and up to the Hill," Lehman tweeted.

Hofer's arrival in Ottawa fittingly coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day.
