Put the hustle and bustle of Christmas aside and let the Simcoe County Museum give you the gift of Christmas Past and Present on December 10 and 11.
Travel back to the time of the pioneers celebrating their first Christmas in a new land or imagine yourself in Victorian times, savouring cookies baked in our very own wood-fired oven and discovering the origins of the modern Christmas tree tradition.
Deliver your letter to Father Christmas in his workshop and hum along with the hammered dulcimer or the bell ringer choir.
Check a few names off your Christmas list as you shop for one-of-a-kind gifts from artisans and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or Swedish glogg while strolling the lantern-lit pathways and listening to sleigh bells on a horse-drawn wagon ride.
This event coukd even put Scrooge into the holiday spirit!
Admission to the event is by donation with proceeds going to the Friends of the Simcoe County Museum. The Friends support the programs and services offered by the Museum.
County of Simcoe Paramedic Services will also be on site collecting new unwrapped toys and gift cards as part of their annual Toy Drive.
