Welcome to 2016 and a new year is often a time for reflection.

People resolve to make the new year better either through a work-related or personal change or intention.

We reached out to community leaders, familiar faces and Barrie residents to share their New Year's resolutions.

Some are serious vows for change and others are tongue in cheek intentions.

As part of our series, we asked Jill Dyck, owner of Bohemia Cafe, to share her resolution for 2016:

"My New Year's resolution for 2016 is to use less kale.  Broaden my horizons.  Use other things, other than kale."
