Barrie boy Zach Hofer met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Monday morning in Ottawa.
Our local fundraising hero tweeted that he had a 'great meeting' to discuss his journey from Barrie to Ottawa to raise funds and awareness for youth mental health.
Zach began his epic trek Aug. 13 and arrived to a hero's welcome with hundreds of well-wishers Sunday on Pariliament Hill.
The 13-year-old's intiative called Zach Makes Tracks has raised more than $70,000 for the new Child and Youth Mental Health Unit at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
Zach and his family were on the road for 29 days as he cycled, ran and walked the more than 400 kms from Barrie to Ottawa.
