Barrie escaped unscathed following a weekend that saw a variety of extreme weather alerts including a tornado warning.
Environment Canada issued the tornado warning on Saturday evening.
The national weather service said meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm that could possibly produce a tornado.
Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall were also possible, the warning stated.
But by 10:17 p.m., EC said conditions that could produce tornados were no longer present.
The warning was downgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning.
Some large tree branches at the waterfront came down in the storm.
