Yep. Sunday's snowfall was a record-breaker

Most snow on Feb 12 since the seventies

Environment Canada's volunteer observation site at Shanty Bay reported 14.6 cm of snow on Sunday.

According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson, this is a new snowfall record for February 12 at this station out of observations since 1973.

Coulson says the previous record snowfall for February 12 was 12.6 cm in 1988.

Orillia had 18 cm up to 9 p.m. last evening and Muskoka came in with a storm total of 22 cm.

There were reports generally of 15 to 20 cm of snow across south central Ontario from the system on Sunday with higher amounts in eastern Ontario — Brockville, Ottawa — of 20 to 30 cm.
