The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is thrilled to announce the success of the Roaring Social Gala, which took place on Nov. 1 at Blue Mountain Resort.

The event brought together community leaders, partners, and supporters for a spectacular evening of entertainment, philanthropy, and purpose.

With an atmosphere that transported our guests back to the glamour and excitement of the 1920s, the gala featured spectacular entertainment, including headliner comedian Gerry Dee and host Adam Growe, who kept the audience laughing and engaged throughout the night. Guests enjoyed live music from The Empties, immersive entertainment, and the vibrant energy of a speakeasy-inspired evening.

But the heart of the evening was the incredible generosity shown by attendees. The event successfully raised $150,000 to support essential YMCA programs and services that impact thousands of individuals across Simcoe, Muskoka, and the District of Parry Sound. Funds raised will be dedicated to providing critical support for community members, including access to child care, mental health resources, day camp and overnight camp, and programs that combat isolation and support overall well-being.

“The Roaring Social Gala was not just a celebration of the past, but a commitment to a brighter future,” said Jill Tettmann, president and CEO of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka. “The overwhelming support from our community is a testament to the impact we can create together. These funds will go a long way in helping individuals of all ages overcome obstacles and realize their full potential.”
