Barrie coach says 'every athlete held their heads up high (and) represented their hometown with the upmost respect'

The Sky Blue U11 Barrie Jr. Colts took part in the Ayr Hockey Challenge this past weekend in Ayr, Ont., and came home with more than just a silver medal.

They took total control of the round-robin games with a 3-0 record, which carried right through the semifinals, bringing them to an epic battle with the Beverly Bandits for the championship.

Falling short in a non-stop, action-packed final, the team won a silver medal with a record of 4-1-0. The Barrie team scored 25 goals for and allowed only four against with two shutouts in the tournament.

"Every athlete held their heads up high, represented their hometown with the upmost respect, played hard, persevered, became a team, protected each other, made life-long memories and had tons and tons of smiles all weekend," said coach Marcello Seminara.

The team includes Teagan Tiffin-Seminara, Everett Braithwaite, Joshua Allen, Jackson Cadieux, Brody Surka, Ryan Madill, Carter Collins, Brayden Partridge, Lucas Cardinal, Luke Pomeroy, Wyatt Smith, Beckett Edison, Bryce Rossi, and Bryce Donaldson. Missing were Tyson Davis, and Griffin Hilliard.
