The top-seeded Barrie North Vikings and Bear Creek Kodiaks senior football teams are both moving on to the Simcoe County Athletics Association (SCAA) semifinals next week.
The Vikings remain undefeated this season following a 46-0 walloping of the visiting Banting Marauders on Wednesday, while the Kodiaks downed the Innisdale Invaders, 10-3, in today's other quarterfinal match-up.
On Tuesday, the Nantyr Shores Tritons hit the road to face the Collingwood Fighting Owls and came back to Innisfil with a 15-8 victory in hand. In Tuesday's other quarter-final, the Maple Ridge Ravens blanked the Eastview Wildcats, 19-0.
With the quarter-finals now in the books, Barrie North will meet Nantyr Shores on Monday, while Bear Creek will take on Maple Ridge. Those games are scheduled for Monday afternoon.
Over at Catholic School Athletics of Simcoe County (CSASC), there will be two semifinal games Friday at Georgian College's J.C. Massie Field.
The CSASC's top-seeded St. Joan of Arc Knights (5-1) will play the Patrick Fogarty Flames (2-4) at 12:30 p.m., followed by the St. Theresa's Thunder (2-4) and the St. Joseph's Jaguars (5-1) at 3 p.m. The St. Peter's Panthers (1-5), who are the fifth team in the CSASC senior loop, did not qualify for the playoffs.
The CSASC senior final will be held Nov. 8 at J.C. Massie Field beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The SCAA and CSASC senior champions will meet for the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA) crown on Thursday, Nov. 14.
