Canadian captain Christine Sinclair reaches 100-match milestone for Portland

HOUSTON — Canadian captain Christine Sinclair marked a milestone Friday night, making her 100th appearance for Portland in the Thorns' NWSL game against the Houston Dash.

The 35-year-old from Burnaby, B.C., is just the seventh player in league history to play all 100 games with the same team. She also ties midfielder Allie Long, now with the Seattle Reign, for most games played in a Thorns uniform.

Sinclair has played for Portland since the NWSL's inaugural season in 2013. She is the Thorns' all-time leader in goals, minutes played and games started.

She has won two championships with the Thorns, in 2013 and 2017. She went into weekend play leading the NWSL in goals with six and was tied for second with three assists.

Sinclair has made 268 appearances for Canada, scoring 173 goals. She is second on the all-time scoring list, trailing retired American forward Abby Wambach by 11 goals.
