Toronto Wolfpack loan outside back Nick Rawsthorne to York City Knights

TORONTO — The Toronto Wolfpack have loaned outside back Nick Rawsthorne to York City Knights.

Rawsthorne first joined York City on loan from Hull FC in March 2017, scoring eight tries in five appearances. He spent time on loan with Doncaster before moving to Toronto ahead of the 2018 season.

He scored a try in the Wolfpack's 48-12 win over Halifax RLFC last Sunday.

The Wolfpack (7-1-0) currently top the second-tier Betfred Championship, while York (5-2-0) stands fourth.

"I'm delighted to bring Nick back to the club and I'm confident he’ll be a positive asset to the squad," York coach James Ford said in a statement. "Nick has the potential to kick on and develop into a fine player if he works hard enough at his game.

"He's got plenty of strike and adds versatility as he can play across the backline."

Rawsthorne, 23, could take part in York's Coral Challenge Cup game Sunday at Barrow Raiders. The Wolfpack have the weekend off since they are not taking part in the knockout tournament this season.

The loan is said to be one month initially.
