WHL roundup: Goldsmith shines in OT as Americans edge Oil Kings 6-5

KENNEWICK — Terrell Goldsmith scored at 2:32 of overtime to lift the Tri-City Americans to a wild 6-5 victory over the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings in Western Hockey League action on Monday night at the Toyota Center.

Jake Gudelj scored twice for the Americans (8-3-1-0), who trailed 4-2 heading into the third period.

Gavin Garland, Cash Koch and Max Curran also scored for the Americans, who were outshot 34-27.

Gavin Hodnett, Marshall Finnie, Miroslav Holinka, Jack Toogood and Josh Mori scored for the Oil Kings (5-5-1-0), who trailed 2-1 after the first period and led 4-2 heading into the third.

The Americans went 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Oil Kings were 1-for-6.
