Posted

Lynda Allan
Passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, July 27th, 2019 at the age of 62. Lynda is survived by her beloved husband Lew, their twin children, Lauren and Scott, stepdaughter Leann and grandchildren Jonathan, Mackenzie, Joshua and Noah. She is predeceased by her mother, Evelyn, and her father, John. Lynda will be missed dearly by her two brothers Mark (Vivian) and Tom, many nieces and nephews, her Auntie Pat, all of the Belleville crew, and her dog Finnigan.

Lynda had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody. Always putting others first and worried about herself second. The compassion and love she shared with her family and friends were like no other. She was selfless, caring, strong, brave and beautiful. Her bright blue eyes will be forever remembered.

Lynda worked alongside her husband, Lew, and her daughter, Lauren, at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home and she will be missed by the entire team. Over the years, Lynda has touched many hearts working multiple places including IGA, Sobeys, and Global. After leaving Sobey’s, Lynda would thoroughly enjoy getting together with “The Sobeys Girls” and catching up on life while enjoying good food and great friends.

“The only way to have a friend is to be one” … and Lynda was an amazing friend to all.

In her spare time, Lynda was a very passionate gardener. Her stunning gardens and lawn would always be kept immaculate. Many-a-time neighbors have stopped to comment on how she has the best-looking grass on the street. Lynda had an eye for detail and loved to decorate and design. She was always taking shopping trips to Winners, Marshalls and HomeSense and could never leave empty handed.

Family and friends will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 for visitation from 12:30pm until the time of the service in the chapel at 2:00pm. Guests are invited to a reception luncheon immediately after the service in the lounge. Cremation to take place.

Lynda had a very special place in her heart for her dog, Finnigan. The bond they shared was incomparable. She often referred to him as ‘her shadow’ and he never left her side. As such, donations in Lynda’s memory can be made to the OSPCA Barrie or the Canadian Mental Health Association and are greatly appreciated by the family.
