With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Garry, who departed peacefully on July 18, 2024, with his wife Robin by his side.
Garry's life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Born on April 23, 1945, he dedicated himself to his family and his passions with unmatched devotion.
Garry leaves behind a legacy that spans generations. He was a loving father to Steven (Yao Yao), Andrea (Char), and Lynzee (Miguel), imparting upon them values of humility, resilience, and integrity. His wisdom and guidance will forever be treasured by his children and his grandchild Iestyn, who held a special place in his heart as his "best buddy."
Garry found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep passion for gardening, particularly in hybridizing daylilies, a hobby he enthusiastically shared with all who knew him. His gardens were not only a source of beauty but also a reflection of his nurturing spirit and his ability to create lasting connections through shared interests.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hospice Simcoe.
A Funeral Mass honoring Garry's life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Parish in Barrie. Following the service, a celebration of life will take place, offering friends and family the opportunity to reminisce, share stories, and commemorate a life well-lived.
Though Garry may no longer be with us in person, his legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
