It is with joy and sadness that we announce June Elaine Blundell passed peacefully into her Saviour’s arms in her 76th year on Friday, June 3, 2022 while in the kind and compassionate care of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with her daughter Melissa at her side. June was born on December 18, 1946, the middle of five daughters, to Cornelius and Dorothy (Payne) Blundell in Barrie, Ontario. Cornelius served during WW2 and Dorothy had come to Canada at the age of 10 as a British Home Child. June is predeceased by both parents and sisters Ellen Elliot (1976), Shirley Tilley (2005), and Beverley (2010) as well as her much loved son Sheldon (2019) and granddaughter Tara Summer (1992). June is survived by one sister, Betty Pera, of Barrie, daughter Melissa Wiley (Chris) of St. Thomas, grandsons Sean Kennedy of Barrie, Matthew Black of Vancouver, and granddaughters Camille Black of Vancouver, Grace Wiley, Erica Wiley, and Lillian Wiley of St. Thomas. June will be fondly remembered by nieces Sheila Klemm (Carlo) of Edson, Alberta, Sharlene McDonald (Gary 2019) of Edmonton, Nancy Meyers (Russ) of Wasaga Beach, and all of their families. Nephews Shane Tilley, Shawn Tilley, Doug Johnson, Kevin Johnson, and Tim Elliot also feel the loss of their Aunt June. June took an interest in her family history and was pleased to be united with her niece Nancy in 2018. June will be sadly missed by Robin and Darcy and their daughter, DJ Brawata, whom June considered to be her adopted granddaughter. June will be missed by many friends from her years of faithful attendance and service at Bethel Community Church, and more recently the congregation of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Special thanks to friends Vicki, Bruce, Joan, Debbi, Dennis, Heidi and many other friends and neighbours who have given great care and support to June over the last number of months. Your kindness has been a comfort to our family. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life for June Blundell at 1pm on Saturday, June 25, 2022] at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 170 Steel St., Barrie, Ontario under the care of Pastors Bruce Sticklee and Matthew Ruttan.
