With love and gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Don Browning on February 27, 2025, at the age of 92.

Don was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend Barbara, with whom he shared an incredible 73 years of marriage. A devoted Father, Don leaves behind children Bob, Andy, Nancy, and Andy’s wife Lisa, who was like a daughter to him. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Nick (Courtney), Sarah (Blake), Tobin, and Ashley (Mitch) and cherished every moment with great-grandchildren Lincoln, Maya, Hudson, Lily, Graham, Easton, Bryce and Steven. He was also predeceased by his sister Kathy and is survived by his brother-in-law, Bill Brady.

Don built a fulfilling career with McGuinness Distillers. He retired at the young age of 57 and never looked back, embracing every moment of his well-earned leisure time. A true sports enthusiast from a young age, he had a love for baseball, hockey and curling. His greatest passion in retirement was spending time on the golf course with family and friends.

Don had a great sense of humour, always bringing laughter to those around him. Don also had a special bond with animals, they loved him just as much as he loved them. He was every family dog’s favourite person, always ready with a kind word, gentle hand, or a treat in his pocket.

Above all, Don will be remembered for his kindness, his love for family, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life, like listening to his favourite music, holding hands with Barbara, and enjoying a cup of tea on the deck.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the RVH Foundation.
