Passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025, at the age of 55, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the cherished daughter of the late Kathy Ridding and, in a moment of beautiful symmetry, Becky reunited with her mother on her mother’s birthday. What a special and meaningful day!
Becky was the devoted mother of Dawson and Kathryn, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her brother Chris and his wife Amanda; nephew Aaron and niece Alexx; and cousins Julie and Jason and his wife Danielle. Her memory will be treasured by numerous friends and all who knew her.
Becky was a true powerhouse—full of strength, determination, and resilience. She was an unwavering and miraculous advocate for her son, Dawson, moving mountains and conquering the impossible to ensure he had the best care and support. No challenge was too great for Becky, and even in her final moments, she fought with unmatched tenacity. Yet, through every hardship, Becky managed to find laughter. Her fantastic sense of humour and sharp wit brought joy to those around her, reminding everyone that even in the darkest moments, there was always room for a good joke and a shared smile. Her unrelenting spirit will forever inspire those fortunate enough to know and love her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional team at Tomkins House Hospice in Penetanguishene for their compassionate care, and to Becky’s dedicated PSWs from St. Elizabeth Home Care, who became not just caregivers but true friends.
A Memorial Service to honour Becky’s life will be held at 37 Ellen St., Barrie, in the Kempenfelt Room, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Becky’s memory may be made to Tomkins House Hospice (705-549-1034) in Penetanguishene or to Furry Friends Animal Shelter (705-792-4911) in Barrie.
