It is with profound sadness that we announce Stacey’s passing at Simcoe Hospice early Thursday morning, after years of fighting cancer.

Stacey’s loss is most profoundly felt by Mike, her husband of 24 years, and her two sons Lucas and Kyle. She leaves her mother Monique, and she was predeceased by her father Todd Scott. She will be deeply missed by brother Michael (Joanna) and sister Dayna (Adrian). Also, her parents-in-law Bettyanne and Norm Brake, Mike’s siblings Krystal (Jeff) and Ken. Stacey was a cherished aunt to Clara, Aaron, Rohan, and Tatiana, as well as Ethan, Jocelyn, Charlotte, and Tessa. She will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She will be dearly missed by her many circles of close friends, neighbours and former co-workers at Royal Victoria Hospital.

Stacey was born in Stittsville and raised in Carp and Sharon, Ontario. She attended Huron Heights High School in Newmarket and met Mike on a high school ski trip. She attended Western University, eventually earning a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy.

Stacey and Mike moved to Barrie in 2011 where they raised their family. Stacey practiced for many years as an occupational therapist at RVH, and cherished her colleagues there. She was awarded the Board of Directors’ Award of Excellence in 2015 for outstanding service. She dedicated her life to supporting others, and was deeply embedded in her community.

A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Wednesday, July 24 at 11 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at noon. Following the service, a reception will be held in the lounge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Stacey’s name to Hospice Simcoe and the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children in Barrie.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the RVH Cancer Centre, the Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto General, and the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe.

Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family through adamsfuneralhome.ca.
